Salim and I discussed his upcoming presentation on the Alamo and I offered suggestions on websites to use as sources and asked what he was going to talk about. We then moved onto recent adventures...I talked about my daughter's birthday and he filled me in on his deep sea fishing trip. He mentioned that he got a little seasick and made a motion for the boat rocking and asked if windy was the right term. I told him that when the waves are high and the boat bounces around it's called "rough seas".
We had a nice chat about his job. He tells people he is in law, which is true, but he actually helps make/change policy for law enforcement in his country, which was really interesting. We talked briefly about American politics, specifically the visit that Trump made to Saudi Arabia. It was great to hear his opinion of things.
He has a trip scheduled to go home to his family for Ramadan that he's looking forward to. That lead to our religion discussion and I asked if he'd ever gone on hajj, but he said no. Apparently, there is a limited number of people from each country that can go each year. He's hoping to take his mom and his wife next year as none of them have ever attended. Overall, super fun and interesting as usual.
