Christiana CP #3

Date/Time: May 18, 2017; 7:00-8:00 P.M.
Location: Campus Circle Study Center
Topic: Simple Past tense for irregular verbs, past continuous tense, school and weekend plans
Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: Nasar got some practice with the simple past and past continuous tenses and I was able to practice explaining some simple grammar tenses to an English language learner.

Originally our third meeting was going to take place at Lake Ella, but Nasar texted me early on Thursday saying that he had two quizzes coming up on Friday and asked if it would be okay to meet at the Campus Circle Study Center instead, which I was totally okay with. We met up in one of the study rooms and chatted about our weeks and what our plans for the weekend were and then he said he had a few questions about the verb tenses that would be covered on his grammar quiz the following day and so we spent the rest of the hour doing practice using some online tools and the irregular verb list that he was given in class both of which were very helpful. Our conversation partner sessions have kind of started to turn into mini tutoring sessions where we practice speaking with one another but also work on more pointed aspects of learning english or studying for his upcoming IELTS exam which has been a big focus for him in the past few months. As I left him in the study room to continue practicing and studying for his exam we decided that we would meet again Monday for our 4th conversation partner session, I've been thinking of trying to meet him earlier in the day on Monday so we can maybe go out and do something around Tallahassee rather than meeting in a study room, but we will see what his schedule allows for.
