On Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from
7:00pm to 8:00pm, my conversation partner Gabriela and I had dinner together at
Momo’s Pizza. I was very excited to
introduce her to Tallahassee’s most famous pizza! Gabriela was so surprised by the size of the
pizza slices, and she said many times that she really loved the
restaurant. While we ate, we talked
about some of the differences between Brazil and the United States. She actually said that pizza buffets are
common in her town. Gabriela said she
loves Brazil; it is a beautiful country.
The only problem is with the government, which creates high taxes with
little benefit to the people. Gabriela
said that she greatly enjoys being in America and would like to live and work
here someday. We talked about our dream
travel destinations. Though we both
agreed that we want to travel everywhere, Gabriela said right now she wants to
visit New Zealand; I said Austria. The
one difficulty we had in conversation was when discussing types of meats. I was surprised that our words were so
different. Overall, we had a great time
getting to know more about each other and each other’s countries.
