The class started with a worksheet that was
about what they read yesterday. The students answered the questions in groups.
They were supposed to try answering the questions without looking at the book.
Angel kept on looking around the classroom and turned on music for them while
the students were answering the questions. They were given 15 minutes to solve
the questions. When the time was up, the students started checking their
answers by finding them in their books. They discussed about the questions and
terms. The first question was to find the topic and subjects about the reading
content. They found key words that were the topic. The other questions were to
find the controlling idea, theme, and supporting details. Angel explained about
them and the students gave answers they wrote.
The second activity was to underline the
controlling sentence of a paragraph and to find the main sentence. Also, the
students had to answer a multiple-choice question that was to find the implied
main idea. The instructor made sure if the students were understanding by
asking them questions. He explained about the answers and told the students that
the midterm will be similar what they did in class.
