Today was my first time
going to tutor the kids (May 31st) because I had a family emergency on Saturday. I decided
to go to the dollar store and buy white boards and markers because I thought it
would be very useful for the kids, I also brought them notebooks and pens.
Since I was not there the first day I was not sure what to expect. There were
about six kids when we arrived. I worked with two of the younger ones on their
alphabet and asking them if they knew words that began with that letter. We
also used work books where I would point at a picture and ask them what it was.
I kept the first meeting simple because I wanted to see where they were with
their English and what they needed work on.
