This was my second to last time tutoring the family of five. All three of us were able to attend this time and we decided to each bring pictures of some important things/people/animals in our lives in order to help with basic vocab.
For example, I brought a picture of my dog, Dixie. This lead us into going over different types of animals and separating them into categories such as Farm Animals vs Pets. We then asked them to tell/show us some important things in their lives. One showed us his favorite toy car while another showed us her bicycle. Using items already in their house seemed to help them apply their new vocab easier.
