So Sheila still wanted help with the essay. She seemed to explain it wasn't due for a few weeks but drafts would be due soon. So we set out to build her essay. I showed her my favorite way. Since we already had three primary statements to base our paragraphs from I drew out a frame work number 1-5. 1 was the introduction and 5 the conclusion. So for each body paragraph we first wrote the topic sentence and discussed some different ways to say the same thing. Then for each topic sentences we tried to come up with 2 to 3 statements about the topic and then evidence or support for each statement. I like this method because with it I can create and step by step list of what I need to write about and address them in an easy order. It frees the writer to write and not think about what is next. I asked her to use the frame work to write her essay and then show it to me for more help later.
