Ismael CP#5 Fahd

6/29/17

For this session I thought it would be interesting to mix things up and invite him to FUMA cigar social. I made sure to ask if he was ok smoking or being around people smoking and he agreed it would be alright. Fuma is a very nice place with filtration systems to help keep it from getting too smoky. I just so happened to know the owners through one of their nephews and an old childhood friend. They actually met Fahd before me because I was in the bathroom and I was pleased to learn they invited him in and exchanged pleasantries. This made for a good transition to talking about growing up in Tallahassee and how I came to know these people. Fahd and I talked at length about what sorts of towns we like to live in and what we like and do not like about where we are from. I also did my best to explain cigar culture in the US and its influences from Cuba and South America. I briefly explained its history too. Later my friend from high school gave us both free cigars. Fahd did not smoke it but instead elected to give it to one of his friends who did. We also ordered some Cuban coffee which was absolutely phenomenal. Fahd really liked it and enjoyed the atmosphere. My goal was to show him some pieces of the US he might not experience and to show just how diverse people are here.
