Vanessa CP#3

On June 2nd I went with Saeed, some of my fellow TEFL classmates, and their conversation partners to First Friday at Railroad Square. We all met up there at 6:30 pm and started to walk around First Friday. We went into a couple of art showcases and talked about some of the art that was displayed and how it was different from the art he was used to seeing. We stopped by a place where people were playing instruments and dancing and enjoyed that for a little. After that we went into a store where they sold crystals and spiritual things and I explained to him why they are used and the effect people think they have. After, we sat on a bench outside and Saeed ask why there were always so many dogs in Tallahassee. After talking about the topic, I came to the realization that in Kuwait they don’t have dogs as domestic pets like we do, but rather for safety reasons or for handling sheep. It was very interesting to see the difference in cultures about something I always thought was so normal, like having a dog.
