Alexandra TS #15

On Friday, June 9, 2017, from 5:00pm to 5:45pm, I met with my child tutee at his house.  Today all the kids wanted to be involved in the lesson, so we did Simon Says.  By reusing different colored papers, I was able to review some colors with them.  They all seemed to remember the color names which was really great.  Then we did charades.  In both activities, the kids sometimes took turns being “it,” but mostly the kids practiced listening while I led.  Then we all counted to one hundred together to review numbers.  After that we did I Spy, pointing to colors around the room.  All these activities seemed to reinforce what we had worked on throughout our tutoring sessions.  I am really glad that all the kids were involved because they seemed to be more motivated as a group than individually.  They enjoyed all the games.  Overall, I had a great time working with Pais over the last couple weeks.  I learned a great deal about working with beginners and working with kids.  I hope our tutoring sessions were useful to him and that his English continues to improve over time.
