Valerie CP #4

Soumaya and went to Lake Ella this past weekend. I picked her up from her new apartment, which she really enjoys, and showed me around before we set off. She's been cooking a lot, but only after sundown as she's been fasting for Ramadan. Growing up in a very conservative-Christian home, I was intrigued to hear all about Ramadan so a majority of our time was spent discussing her religious beliefs and how practically everyone from Burkina Faso identifies as Muslim as well.

We also talked about the different places on campus she can go to look for a job. I told her I would go with her next time, to places such as the different libraries, to see if they have any positions for her. She's very eager to start working and making money!

She's excited for the end of classes and the little break she has in-between semesters, but also says she doesn't know what she's going to fill her day with now! I told her we'll have to explore the city a little more together. She doesn't like dogs though, so I'm hoping to change that a little with my Border Collie, who is as lovable as they come. She laughs whenever I tell her about Dixie because she knows I want them to meet, but she is definitely wary of that situation.
