Alexandra TS #12
On
Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, I met with my adult tutee in the
basement of the CIES. I arrived very wet
from the rain, so we talked about the weather a little. Then we talked about Natalia’s class
assignments. She asked me about
adjective placement when they are paired with nouns. This is because in many other languages like
Russian and Italian, the adjective often follows the noun. In English on the other hand, adjectives
often precede the noun. We talked a lot
about music again. This is a subject
that interests us both, so it is easy to find different aspects of music to discuss. Today I let Natalia listen to a recording of
me playing the piano. She loved it. Afterwards, we talked about the composer and
the history of the piece. We tried to
compare it to music from Natalia’s country.
Overall, it was a good session. I
think Natalia is really gaining confidence as an English speaker.
