Alexandra TS #16

On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, I met with my adult tutee, Natalia at the CIES.  We began by talking about our days.  Natalia told me that her husband had returned from traveling Europe.  She also gave me a recipe for a pasta sauce because we talked about foods we ate often.  Then, we looked at pictures of each other’s families and described the images.  Natalia had a presentation in her next class, so she practiced it with me twice.  She spoke clearly and did a great job.  I was impressed with her English and her pronunciation.  There were only a couple grammatical changes that I told her to make.  Natalia told me that I always speak very clearly.  She said she was glad that she could almost always understand what I said to her.  I was really happy to hear this because I wanted our sessions to be beneficial to her and boost her confidence in English.  Overall, I really enjoyed working with Natalia and getting to know her.  I learned a lot about tutoring and English learners.  I think our sessions helped both of us gain confidence with learning and teaching English.
