Topic/Skill: Error Corrections & Speaking
Feedback Provided to Tutee: Seongeun and I started the session by going over the errors of some practice problems. Seongeun had shown me the material the week before, so before our session I had gone over those problems and prepared to guide her to the right answers and explain any questions she might have. We also practiced listening and speaking to prepare Seongeun for The Longest Table event on Sunday. The Longest Table was a great opportunity for Seongeun to get to practice listening and speaking with native English speakers as well as give her an opportunity to make meaningful interactions. We practiced questions one might ask when getting to know someone.
Lesson(s) about Tutoring and/or the Tutee You Learned: I learned that Seongeun definitely needs more listening practice, so for our next tutoring session I want to incorporate more listening activities as well as speaking activities.
