Alexandra TS #14

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 5:00 to 5:45pm, I met with my child tutee at his house.  We began with Simon Says because I had found this is a really good way to get the kids excited, focused, and engaged in their English sessions.  This time I placed three pieces of colored construction paper around the room, and I had the kids run to them several times.  I hoped that the kinesthetic nature of this activity would help with color name recognition and retention.  I do think it helped them a little, and I want to do this activity again next time to solidify the vocab.  Then Pais and I worked on basic math in order to practice numbers.  He does well with addition, so I wanted to reinforce his skills.  We took turns writing addition problems and asking them to each other.  Pais was able to get the addition questions correct but not the subtraction ones.  Overall, this was a fun session with the kids.
