Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: We both learned about different cultures and the foods that they have.

Today, Tingwei and I talked a lot about future plans and also things that we both would do if we could. We were talking a lot about traveling. I was asking him where he would go if he could go anywhere in the world by himself, and he said that he didn't want to travel alone. Then, I asked him who he would go with and where they would go. He said he would go to Japan for the food. He said that he would go to Japan with his best friend, but he would go to Egypt with his girlfriend. He said that she's really picky about food and heat, so he said she would have to promise not to complain. I thought it was really funny. We also talked about how he feels about being in America. He said that he doesn't think that he should go home to Taiwan because he would stay if he visited. He said that he's glad that came to America, but he would stay in Taiwan if he could just because it would be easier. We also talked about my fears with trying to go teach in a foreign country, and he was really encouraging. It was a very serious conversation for the most part, but we still had some fun and laughed like we normally do. It was a really great conversation, and because he likes traveling, he had a lot more to say which was great.
