Saad and I met for dinner at sundown. We covered many topics, but what I found most interesting was the wedding ceremony in Saudi Arabia. Saad told me that for the weddings the ceremonies often cost $35,000 because families rent two palaces, one for the wife and her (female) friends, and one for the husband and his (male) friends. They spend the day separate from each other to celebrate with their friends. Then, the husband and wife leave in the evening.
