Alexa TS #6

I met up with Ana again today (6/12/17, 12:00-1:00), and we practiced speaking for the TOEFL again. We covered five different questions: something you accomplished that you thought you couldn't, if all children should be required to learn a second language in school, if you prefer watching movies/television or reading books/magazines, a city you visited in the past that you like the most, and your most important possession. One thing that Ana struggles with is grammar and making sure that the verbs agree with what she is trying to say in her sentences. However, she has great fluency and her grammar has improved compared to the first time we met up for tutoring. It is also really fun to work with Ana because she is at an advanced level, so for the most part, there aren't any barriers when communicating. There are still times where she won't be able to think of something to say within the 15 minute planning time limit, but I think even when that happens, it is a good opportunity to still practice. We can't know the exact questions she would be asked on the TOEFL, but she needs to be ready if she is given a hard question where she needs to come up with something on the fly due to not having enough time to plan out a response.
