Topic/Skill: Reading
Teacher Presentation: Victoria Davis was the Professor, and she read them a children's book today.
Classroom Management:
Materials: Copies of the children's book
Student Participation: Most of the students participated, and those that didn't were very engaged in the topic and paying attention
Feedback Provided: The students would ask words that they did not know the meaning to, and she would give them clues to the meaning, then write the meaning on the board with whether it is a noun, verb, etc.
Lesson(s) on teaching you learned:
- Preface the books with a discussion
- If it is a short story, read it through several times and help them decipher the meaning
- Have the student sit next to other students that do not speak the same language, so they are forced to speak English.
